Volunteering - make a difference to your community!
Volunteering is a great way to increase your skills and experience and get used to working as part of a team. It's fun and you'll make new friends too. You'll play a large part in the day to day running of the Institute as without you we'd find it difficult to manage the wide range of services and activities we offer.
You’ll receive a full induction, have help to complete a CV, be included in all staff training opportunities and benefit from professional development and support which will improve your employment prospects. You'll also qualify for our unique ‘readability’ learning scheme to brush up on your reading, writing, spelling or communication skills if needed.
Our volunteering roles include the following, but if you feel that you have other skills that may help us, please get in touch.
- Catering - food preparation, cooking, washing up
- Clerical - answering the phone, data input, record keeping, filing and photocopying
- Weddings & Events - venue set up, serving food and drinks, clearing up
- Building Maintenance - basic repair work and upkeep of the building
New volunteering opportunities are coming soon for parents, grandparents and guardians who would like to help fundraise for activities for the children and young people of the community - we are starting this group soon so please contact us asap.
Also coming up is a new knitting group run by Volunteering Matters - if you would like to attend or help out just get in touch. Full details to follow soon.
