About Us

The Twin Aims of the Citizens Advice Service are:

  • to provide the advice people need for the problems they face
  • to improve the policies and practices that affect people’s lives.

Caerphilly & Blaenau Gwent CAB is an independent charity and a Company Limited by Guarantee and is the largest CAB in Wales. It provides a wide range of services across the counties of Caerphilly and Blaenau Gwent and also runs projects in other areas.

Our service is free, independent, impartial and confidential; it is non-judgmental, offering assistance to all. It aims to be equally accessible to everyone who seeks or needs its help, regardless of age, class, race, religion, gender, disability or sexuality.

All advice workers, whether paid or volunteer, are professionally trained to provide an accurate, quality service and to be supportive to clients.

Caerphilly & Blaenau Gwent CAB deal with over 40,000 enquiries a year, giving detailed information, advice and support to people on every subject. The majority of problems concern social security benefits, debt, employment, housing and the law.

We work from four main offices and many other outlets where CAB advice is available. Over 60 trained volunteers work in the bureaux, together with paid staff including supervisors, tutors and specialist advisers.
