Come and relax and enjoy a hot beverage in the Institutes Internet Café

Located within the heart of the Institute is the internet café providing a friendly and welcoming environment. Come and enjoy a relaxing cup of coffee and snacks in comfort. Originally home to the reading room where the miners came to educate themselves and socialise. The café now encompasses this function by providing a 21st century reading and learning environment open to the whole community.

The café will also host Blaenau Gwent Library Service where there will be books, and an online facility with access to courses such as geneology and local history.  Complimenting this will be a connection to the gateways to learning scheme.

The cyber café will house state of the art computers with fast broadband connection and two fleets of laptops for courses and workshops. Specialist I.T. equipment is also available for anyone with mobility, hearing or visual impairment.

The café will also host a plasma screen where community members can access the website, digital stories and utilise it as a interactive 'whats on' community resource.
